Read our guide to responsible rubbish removal
Spring cleaning, DIY projects, garden clear-outs – sometimes, you end up with a mountain of waste. But how you get rid of it matters. Here at David Brown Skip we believe in responsible rubbish removal, and that means avoiding the temptation of fly-tipping.
Fly-tipping: The ugly truth
Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of waste. It can be anything from a bag of old clothes to a fridge dumped on the side of the road, in a park, or even on someone’s private land. It’s unsightly, environmentally damaging, and a real problem for communities.
Why you shouldn’t fly-tip?
There are several reasons why fly-tipping is a terrible idea:
- Environmental Damage: Fly-tipped waste can pollute waterways, harm wildlife, and release toxins into the soil.
- Health Risks: It can attract vermin and create unsanitary conditions.
- Costly Cleanup: Local authorities have to spend money clearing up fly-tipped waste, taking resources away from other services.
- Fines and Prosecution: Fly-tipping is a serious offense. You could face a criminal conviction, hefty fines or even a prison sentence.
